Welcome to the 2018-19 School Year at CRA

Welcome Back to C.R. Anderson Middle School!

The start of a new school year brings excitement and opportunity.  As we get closer to the first day of school, excitement builds with thoughts of reconnecting with old friends, meeting new teachers, and even making some new friends. With the excitement of starting a new school year comes an opportunity for a new beginning. It is a chance to improve, learn something new, or develop new positive habits.  We are excited for students to return and look forward to building on the successes of the past.  Our goal is to partner with you to help students grow positively through their experiences. Please communicate with me, Mr. Lamb, counselors, and teachers should your child need help. We look forward another great school year.

Below are a few items to consider before school begins

  1. To effectively communicate, please update your PowerSchool information including home address, mailing address, contact phone numbers, email address, and emergency contact information.
  1. Supply lists are available online at http://cra.helenaschools.org/

~6th Grade Orientation Day – Where Everybody Belongs~

Wednesday, August 29th, 2018

Student Orientation:  We are excited to see all 6th graders on their first day of school – WEB day – Wednesday, August 29th!  On this day, you will participate in lots of activities, meet new people, tour the school, get your lockers, and run through your class schedules.  Bring your backpack, school supplies, lunch or lunch money, and lock to your locker.  Wear comfortable clothes and good shoes that allow you to be active and sit on the floor.

Students will meet in the rear of the school (northside) near the bus lanes, courtyard, and recess field.  Arrive in plenty of time to say hi to friends you haven’t seen all summer.  At 8:05, we will open the doors to begin our fun day.   You will eat lunch at school (school-made for $2.75 or lunch brought from home).  The day will end at 2:50. Buses will run as normal on this day.

Parent Orientation:  New this year is a morning orientation for parents – starting promptly at 8:05 and lasting about 45 minutes to an hour.  Drop your middle schooler off behind the school, then head to the front of the school (southside).  Through the main doors, you’ll find the upper gym where we will hold an orientation for parents/guardians.  Here you will learn about the ins and outs of middle school at CRA and get important information about lunch money, PowerSchool, activities, and more.

We will also host a parent orientation in the evening of August 29th at 6:00 p.m.  You may choose to attend whichever orientation fits best in your schedule.  You do not need to come to both.

~We can’t wait to welcome in our next class of CR Anderson Cubs!~
